The license for our apps, in plain words.
Last updated October 20, 2026. These terms are the license for apps from Echo App Studio. By installing or using one of our apps, you agree to them.
Who these terms are with
Echo App Studio (“we”) makes the apps. Polar Software, Inc. sells them as our reseller and merchant of record, and its checkout terms cover the payment.
Your license
When you buy an app, we give you a license to use it on up to two Macs that you own or use, for personal or work use. A license is for one person. You can’t share, resell or transfer it.
Trial
Paid apps can be used free for 14 days to try them out. After that, a license is needed to keep using them.
Updates
Your license includes all updates for the version you bought. A new major version may be offered as a paid upgrade. We may change an app or stop offering it, but the version you bought keeps working for you.
Free apps
If we offer an app for free, you can use it under these same terms, without paying.
What you can’t do
- Copy the app for other people, or share or publish your license key.
- Change the app, or use any other trick, to get around the license check or the trial.
- Copy our code into other software.
Ownership
The apps remain ours. You get a license to use them, not ownership. Some apps include parts made by others under their own licenses; these are listed in each app’s Acknowledgements.
Your data
What you make with our apps is yours and stays on your Mac. See Privacy for details.
No warranty
The apps are provided “as is”. We work hard to make them reliable, but we can’t promise they’ll be free of errors or work for every purpose. Please keep backups of your important files.
Limit of liability
As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses, such as lost data or lost income, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid for the app.
Ending the license
If you break these terms, for example by sharing your license key, we may revoke your license.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the new version applies to new purchases and updates, and the date at the top shows when they last changed.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Nothing in them limits consumer rights you have where you live.
