Answers to common questions, and how to reach us.

Trying and buying

How does the free trial work?

Every paid app works fully for 14 days from the first time you open it. No account or payment details are needed. When the trial ends, the app asks for a license key.

What happens to my stuff when the trial ends?

Nothing is deleted. Your recordings, settings and other data stay on your Mac. Enter a key and you carry on where you left off.

How do I buy?

Click Buy on the app’s page. Checkout is run by Polar and takes Apple Pay or a card, and you don’t need an account. Your license key arrives by email right away.

Can I get a refund?

Every paid app has a free trial, so purchases are final. We do fix duplicate charges and missing keys. See Refunds.

Your license

How many Macs can I use it on?

Two Macs per license, for your own use at home or at work. The full details are in the Terms.

How do I enter my key?

Open the app, choose Enter License Key, and paste the key from your email.

I got a new Mac. How do I move my license?

On the old Mac, choose Deactivate This Mac in the app, then enter your key on the new one. If the old Mac is gone, you can free its slot from the link in your purchase email from Polar, or email us.

I lost my license key.

It’s in your purchase email from Polar; search your inbox for “Polar”. Still can’t find it? Email us with the address you bought with.

Do I need to be online to use the app?

Only to activate your key. After that, the app works offline and quietly re-checks the license when you’re connected.

Updates

Are updates free?

Yes, all updates for the version you bought. A future major version (like 2.0) may be a paid upgrade.

How do updates work?

The apps update themselves. They check for signed updates and install them when you’re not in the middle of something. You can also choose Check for Updates… from the app menu.

Your Mac

What do I need?

macOS 26 or later. Each app’s page lists any extra needs, such as Apple Intelligence for some features.

Are the apps safe to open?

Yes. Every app is signed and checked by Apple (notarized), so macOS opens it normally after asking once.

How do I uninstall an app?

Quit it and drag it from Applications to the Trash. To also remove its data, see the app’s page for where it keeps files.
